Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, also known as Neymar, is a professional football player who plays for the Brazil national football team as well as for the club Paris Saint-Germain as a forward/striker.

He was born on 5 February 1992 in Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil. Neymar has an older brother and a sister who were born and raised by his parents Neymar Santos Sr. (father) and Nadine da Silva (mother). His father, a former football player, was the reason behind Neymar’s passion for football.

Neymar started his journey to football from the club Santos FC. He signed a contract with Santos in 2003 and made his professional debut on 7 March 2009. It was with this club Neymar flourished and became a world-wide known athlete. He even won the 2012 South American Footballer of the year award during his time in Santos.

On 27 May 2013, Neymar signed a contract with FC Barcelona for a five-year deal. He quickly gained popularity due to his unique skills and became a valuable player for Barcelona. After his final season in Barcelona, he joined the French side Peter Saint-Germain for a transfer fee of 222 million Euros making him the most expensive transfer player of the club ever.

Neymar also represented Brazil in several international games. It was in the 2012 Summer Olympics he scored his first ever hat-trick. He also played in the 2014 World Cup and 2015 Copa America.
