For 20 years, Morocco had been excluded from world cup. Morocco national football team’s last appearance in FIFA World Cup was in 1998 in France. Before qualifying for the 2018 World cup hosted by Russia, Morocco had participated for four times with their best performance in the 1986 edition as they advanced to the second round. Morocco is the first ever African country to enter the second round in World Cup.
